Honestly with 1000 USD right now I'm splitting it three ways: 400 into a hardware wallet because I actually want to sleep at night, 350 into learning something new like a trading course or dev bootcamp because skills compound, and 250 staying liquid for the next opportunity that actually excites me instead of just chasing what everyone else is chasing.
